Lateral or vertical filing?

Vertical cabinets are narrow and deep, storing files front to back, and suit corridors and small offices. Lateral cabinets are wide and shallow, storing files side to side, and are easier to access from a standing position and fit under windows. Room depth and walkway width usually decide.

Why is anti-tilt important?

Filled file drawers are heavy. If several open at once on a tall cabinet, the unit can tip forward. An interlock lets only one drawer open at a time, and wall or floor fixing adds safety. We recommend both for cabinets more than two drawers high.

Can the cabinet be fireproof?

Standard wood-based filing cabinets are not fire-rated. If records require fire protection, specify certified fire-resistant steel cabinets or a protected room. We can supply matching wooden enclosures or finishes around a certified unit if the design calls for a consistent look. Your project specification or insurer should define the required protection level.

Are electronic locks available?

Yes. Code, card or app-controlled locks can replace key locks, which helps shared offices manage access without key control. Battery replacement and override keys should be planned. Confirm the lock brand preference so it can be integrated into the drawings and pre-fitted. Keyed-alike options also simplify management.
