Very tall doors can bow if the substrate, balancing and hardware are not right. Options include using straightening devices, extra hinges and balanced lacquering on both faces. Send the ceiling height early so we can confirm the safe maximum door height for your chosen material, or recommend splitting doors with a top box.

How does white lacquer compare to white melamine?

Lacquer gives a smooth, painted look, wraps edges without visible bands and can be any color, but costs more and needs careful handling. Melamine is tougher against scratches and cheaper, but edges show banding lines. Hotels sometimes use lacquer doors with melamine interiors to balance appearance and cost.

Can lacquer be repaired if damaged?

Small chips can be touched up by a skilled finisher using matched paint, but large damage usually needs a replacement door. Keep the approved color reference and order details so replacement doors can match. For projects, consider ordering a small number of spare doors with the main shipment.

How much clearance do hinged doors need?

Clearance depends on door width; doors around 450–600 mm wide need roughly that much free space in front plus room to stand. Check that doors do not clash with beds, windows or light switches. Our drawings show the door swing so the layout can be reviewed before production.
